Wonderful, informative guide. Beautiful photos. Has it all!
This book shows in gorgeous detail all of the members of Topper Corporation's Dawn doll and her doll family, all of their outfits and accessories, and even shows many unusual and rare items such as store displays. Beautiful, full-color photos lead the reader through Dawn's world. The book also has a chapter on Dawn competitors such as Mattel's Rockflowers, Ideal's Fashion Flatsys, and Hasbro's World of Love and Leggy dolls. The book comes with a bonus fold-out Collector's Checklist listing all the Dawn dolls, outfits, Topper Corp. accessories and licensed accessories. A valuable reference guide for the collector, as well as a delightful trip down memory lane for anyone who was a child or who had children in the 1970s.

The Days of His Grace: A Novel.
Published in Hardcover by Vanguard Press (October, 1970)
Author: Eyvind Johnson
Average review score:

highly recommended
This is a gravely underappreciated work of art by one of Sweden's finest novelists (if not the finest). The story is about hope, life, death and foresaken love in the realm of Charlemagne. A tribute, one might say, to the survival of intellect in the midst of unfettered violence and raw power.

Dead Funny
Published in Paperback by Methuen Publishing, Ltd (February, 1994)
Author: Terry Johnson
Average review score:

FUN AND GAMES
Terry Johnson is one of the finest playwrights working today. If he is not as well known in the USA as he is in his native England, it is just that his plays have not travelled to Broadway where, I believe, they would be instant "new classics."

DEAD FUNNY is a brilliant dissection of two rotting marriages, friends who come together in the fan club they've created for the British "low" comedians who create laughter by pretending to be silly, sex-starved clowns. Perhaps the American equivalent would be Rodney Dangerfield, Lou Costello, Red Skelton or today's Adam Sandler...not the brainy, quick-witted stand-ups like Seinfeld or Joy Behar.

It's a memorial service for Benny Hill which provides the setting for DEAD FUNNY. The hosts, Eleanor and Richard, a 30-something husband and wife who have long ago substituted excoriating wit for affection and their friends, Lisa and Nick, who seemingly have a happy, fulfilled family life, joined by their older, buffoonish friend, Brian for an evening of fun and games.

This is a terribly funny, sad, bitter, hysterical, shocking play which deserves as big an audience in this country as it had in London during its long and very successful run. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Essential Office Text
I have NEVER had a more useful text in my office!! Gives a clear approach to common and often complex problems faced in outpatient and inpatient medicine. Includes topics such as thyroid nodule, hyponatremia (and other electrolyte abnormalities), elevated transaminases, fatigue, chronic diarrhea, constipation, solitary pulmonary nodule, mediastinal adenopathy, and really anything else you can think of!! I have never not been able to find what I needed quickly and easily. A must have for an busy office when you need to know what to do without all the peripheral talk!! I wish they had continue this series in Peds and OB/Gyn (there are old ones in these fields)as they were just as valuable!! An investment you won't regret. Great for residents!!

Delta Blood
Published in Paperback by Avon (August, 1980)
Author: Barbara Ferry Johnson
Average review score:

This book runs away with passion and adventure!
I first read this book as a dreamy teenage girl, who being filled with romance and longings, was a prime candidate for such a passionate story of a woman in search of fulfullment and identity. That was over 20 years ago, and this lovely story still brings home to me that same inspirational feeling of departing on some grand adventure! Delta Blood is the first in Barbara Ferry Johnson's trilogy centering on the beautiful Leah. The heroine displays the utterly feminine charms of stubborn hope and fragile strength in a man's world. This book is still a cherished favorite today and has the unmistakable appeal of a true romantic classic!

The Deposition Guide: A Practical Handbook for Witnesses
Published in Paperback by Law Forum Press (25 February, 2003)
Author: Larry G. Johnson
Average review score:

Great help if you read it before your deposition is taken
Like a lot of people, I had no idea what to expect when I was told I had to give a deposition in a lawsuit where I was listed as a witness. All I knew was that lawyers would be asking me a lot of questions under oath, and I was nervous, since the last place I feel comfortable is in a room full of lawyers. I wanted to know what my rights were as a witness. I bought The Deposition Guide and am glad I did. In a short, easy-to-read book there are dozens of tips and advice on the law that gave me confidence I had some control over what goes on in a deposition and what I could do if it got out of hand. The book also explains and puts into perspective just what a deposition is and why lawyers want this kind of testimony before a trial. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to be prepared and understand what his or her rights are before being subjected to a deposition.

Derivatives: A Manager's Guide to the World's Most Powerful Financial Instruments
Published in Digital by McGraw-Hill ()
Author: Philip McBride Johnson
Average review score:

Excellent book! Very lucid, and very comprehensive!
This is a superb book, get it if you are interested in the world of derivatives. As the title suggests, however, this is a *managerial* intro to the world of the world's "most powerful financial intruments" and will be excellent introduction for MBA students. COntains some excellent examples from this world as well (great to know this if you are going to interview).

If you want something a lot more numerical and yet friendly, I'd suggest "The Complete Guide to Option Pricing Formulas by Espen Gaarder Haug" to go alongside this book - thats a classic as well. If you want to see the Black-Scholes model in operation, check out http://erudition.com/derivatives/. Good luck.
